Passage: Genesis 1:26-28

This week in Genesis 1:26–28, we learn that to be human is to be made in the image of God. Because God Himself is triune, we were made for community with one another, unity with Him, and mission in the world. Though sin shattered that image, Jesus came to restore what was broken and bring us back into the life we were created for.

Series Information

Genesis 22 tells the startling story of Abraham being commanded to offer Isaac, the son of promise, yet the point is not Isaac’s death but God’s provision. Abraham trusted that God would keep His promise, and God provided a substitute in Isaac’s place. This story points us forward to Jesus, the true Lamb of God, whom the Father gave to take away the sin of the world.
