Passage: 1 Samuel 17:40-50
In this message, we see that David and Goliath is more than an underdog story about overcoming the giants in our lives. It is the account of God saving His fearful people through His chosen king, pointing us forward to Jesus Christ—the Good Shepherd and eternal King who defeated sin and death for us. Because the King has won, His people can live with courage and carry the gospel to the world.
Series Information

Genesis 22 tells the startling story of Abraham being commanded to offer Isaac, the son of promise, yet the point is not Isaac’s death but God’s provision. Abraham trusted that God would keep His promise, and God provided a substitute in Isaac’s place. This story points us forward to Jesus, the true Lamb of God, whom the Father gave to take away the sin of the world.
