Tony Dungy

TONY DUNGY is a No. 1 New York Times best-selling author whose books include Quiet Strength, Uncommon, The Mentor Leader, and Uncommon Marriage. He led the Indianapolis Colts to Super Bowl victory on February 4, 2007—the first such win for an African-American head coach. Dungy established another NFL first by becoming the first head coach to lead his teams to the playoffs for ten consecutive years. Dungy joined the Colts in 2002 after serving as the most successful head coach in Tampa Bay Buccaneers' history. He has held assistant coaching positions with the University of Minnesota, Pittsburgh Steelers, Kansas City Chiefs, and Minnesota Vikings. Before becoming a coach, Dungy played three seasons in the NFL; he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2016.

Dungy has been involved in a wide variety of charitable organizations, including All Pro Dad, Abe Brown Ministries, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Athletes in Action, Mentors for Life, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and Boys & Girls Clubs. He also works with Basket of Hope, Impact for Living, the Black Coaches Association National Convention, Indiana Black Expo, the United Way of Central Indiana, and the American Diabetes Association. He retired from coaching in 2009 and now serves as a studio analyst for NBC's Football Night in America. He and his wife, Lauren, are the parents of eleven children.

 

James "J.B." Brown

JAMES “J.B.” BROWN is the host of The NFL Today on CBS. A three-time Emmy Award-winning network broadcaster, Brown has hosted the Super Bowl a record-breaking 12 times. He is a Special Correspondent for CBS News, contributing across all of the network’s news platforms. Brown has won numerous awards and accolades for excellence in sports broadcasting, including the Jackie Robinson Award for Excellence in Sports Journalism, awarded by One Hundred Black Men of New York (March 2022); Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame (August 2020); Pro Football Hall of Fame, receiving the Pete Rozelle Award for Excellence in Broadcasting (2016); and Best Studio Host of the Decade by SI.com (2010). Most recently, he received the National Association of Broadcasters 2023 Distinguished Service Award, their highest honor.

Brown and Dungy are co-hosts of Beyond the Game, on YouTube.com, a program focusing on men and women of faith in the sports industry. Most recently, they completed a video Bible teaching series for RightNow Media. In 2014, Brown received “The Uncommon Award,” bestowed annually by Tony Dungy to an individual exhibiting “Uncommon Leadership through Character and Faith.”

An ordained minister, Brown enjoys speaking at churches and conferences around the country. He co-authored an autobiographical book about his faith called Role of a Lifetime: Reflections on Faith, Family and Significant Living. He is involved in numerous charitable organizations, including serving as a board member of GENYOUth, an organization committed to child health and wellness in the school community; and is an avid supporter of the Ron & Joy Paul Kidney Center at The George Washington University; and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
