Following Jesus
THE GOSPEL
We have all sinned.
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23
God is holy and must punish sin.
“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23
God sent His Son, Jesus, to save you.
“Christ died for our sins… He was buried…He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.” 1 Corinthians 15:3–4
WHAT MUST YOU DO TO HAVE ETERNAL LIFE?
Repent
What does it mean to repent? It means to do a spiritual U-turn with the help of the Holy Spirit. You turn from sin, and you turn to God. It doesn’t mean you’ll never sin again, but it does mean you are tired of it and don’t want to sin. “Unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.” Luke 13:3
Believe
Jesus paid the price for you, and that He rose from the dead to give you eternal life. “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” Acts 16:31
Receive
You invite Christ to come into your life, to be your Lord, and your Savior. The moment you call upon his name and receive him as your Savior, He makes you a new creation. “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name.” John 1:12
YOU CAN RECEIVE JESUS RIGHT NOW
PRAY A PRAYER LIKE THIS:
“Lord Jesus, I confess that I have sinned against You. I turn from my sin right now. I believe that You died on the cross to pay the penalty for my sins. I receive You as the Lord and Savior of my life. I give my life to You. In Jesus name, Amen.”
If you sincerely repented of your sin, put your faith in Christ, and called upon his name to save you, the Bible says you’re a Christian. Old things have passed away, new things have come, and the spirit of God has come to live within you.
Angels in heaven are rejoicing, and we at Old Fort would love to rejoice with you as well!
If you prayed to receive Christ, please let us know. We would love to rejoice with you, and to thank God for what he’s done in your life. We would also like to walk alongside you as you begin your new Christian life.
