Friday & Saturday, August 22 & 23
The Serve Tour, in partnership with churches, and Send Relief seeks to inspire Southern Baptists across North America to engage in compassion ministry by providing opportunities for churches to participate in ministry projects in one specific city.
Old Fort will be serving together on a few projects. We’ll be helping to refurbish a local school and helping with a housewarming party for international teachers.
The projects do have a minimum age requirement due to the nature of the project. Age requirements are listed in the project description.
The only cost will be for the hotel and a few meals.
This will be a fun time to spend time with your church family serving together as well as fellowshipping at the hotel.
Read more information below about the three projects our church will be helping with and register for one today!
Painting Horrell Hill Elementary (Fri-Sat)
Volunteers will refurbish the campus by providing a fresh coat of paint to a conference room, bus pickup area, and handrails. Volunteers will also install a Gaga pit.
The annual Housewarming Party event is designed to meet these critical needs. At this event, international teachers will have the opportunity to "shop" for free furniture, housewares, and household supplies, all generously donated or purchased by members of the greater Columbia community.
Volunteers are needed throughout the weekend to haul, sort, and set up items on Friday; manage logistics and assist guests on Saturday; and deliver furniture and other claimed items on Saturday afternoon. Beyond meeting urgent physical needs, this project opens doors to meaningful relationships and offers a chance to extend the love of Christ to international teachers, school district leaders, and staff throughout the community.
