Johnson September 2008 Prayer Calendar

Mon. Sept. 1 In August we wrote, "We have passed our first stage of medical clearance. Pray that the medical department will accept this and give their final approval quickly." As this prayer calendar is being written Dan has been granted final medical clearance but Pam has had several issues that have needed further attention. In faith we are asking you to praise the Lord that by this date on the calendar that Pam will also have received final medical clearance

Tue. Sept. 2 Pray for Dan and Pam as they are doing their final sorting, packing and crating this week.

Wed. Sept. 3 Pray for patience that is needed during packing and crating.

Thur. Sept. 4 Pray that all the final things that need to be put in the crate will happen today.

Fri. Sept. 5 Pray that we will be able to close up our crate and send word to the mission board that it is ready to be shipped to Tanzania.

Sat. Sept. 6 Thank you for praying for the Johnson’s final family vacation. We had a good time and enjoyed being with Pam's family but of course saying good bye was hard as we all knew it was for several years.

Sun. Sept. 7 Pray for Dan as he speaks at James Island Baptist Church today.

Mon. Sept. 8 Pray for a partnership that we are developing with James Island Baptist Church. Pray that both parties will have a good understanding of what God wants them to do.

Tues. Sept. 9 Thank you for praying for Katelyn as she flew by herself to the Re-entry Retreat. She did great and even realized she enjoyed flying even by herself.

Wed. Sept. 10 Praise the Lord for Katelyn and the other MK’s at the Re-entry Retreat as they enjoyed renewing old friendships and making new ones. This was a huge blessing to Katelyn.

Thur. Sept. 11 Pray that this last day in the states will be a relaxing one and not a hectic one.

Fri. Sept. 12 Pray for Dan and Pam as they say good bye and fly out of Charleston today.

Sat. Sept. 13 Continue to pray for safety in travel as Dan and Pam finish their flight to Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania.

Sun. Sept. 14 Continue to pray that Tim will find a church in Mount Pleasant where he can become an active member.

Mon. Sept. 15 Pray for Dan and Pam to quickly recover from any jet lag they may have.

Tues. Sept. 16 Continue to pray that as Strategy Leader for the Maasai of Tanzania Dan will formulate the plan of action that God wants us to follow.

Wed. Sept. 17 Pray that Pam will overcome her fear of driving in Tanzania.

Thur. Sept. 18 Pray for Dan and Pam as they reaquaint themselves with the Tanzanian culture.

Fri. Sept. 19 Pray for Tim and Katelyn that they will not become overwhelmed as they realize how far away from us they are.

Sat. Sept. 20 Pray for safety in travel as Dan and Pam once again travel the roads in Tanzania.

Sun. Sept. 21 Pray that Dan and Pam will be refreshed as they once again worship in Swahili.

Mon. Sept. 22 Pray for Dan and Pam as they begin their four week Swahili language refresher today.

Tues. Sept. 23 Pray that the language teachers will teach in such a way that will help us as we get back into using Swahili.

Wed. Sept. 24 Pray that the Swahili they already learned will come back quickly.

Thur. Sept. 25 Pray that they will be able to pick up new vocabulary that will help them communicate better.

Fri. Sept. 26 Pray that areas of difficulty in language will be overcome.

Sat. Sept. 27 Pray that God will give us a greater love for the people of Tanzania than we already have.

Sun. Sept. 28 Pray for Tim and Katelyn that they will stay strong in their beliefs and will want to go to church even now that mom and dad are not around.

Mon. Sept. 29 Pray that Pam will be able to hear the language better than she was able to do previously.

Tue. Sept. 30 Pray for Dan to be able to grasp all the Swahili grammer rules.
